About 6/6

Why 6/6?

In Egypt people say "my eyes are 6 over 6" to mean their eyesight is good. 6/6 is the normal standard of visual acuity, and it is the goal we work towards: the best possible vision for every eye.

But 6/6 is a goal, not a promise. Some eyes do not reach it even after treatment, and for them our goal is the best vision their condition allows.

6/6 Vision Eye Center

6/6 Vision Eye Center is being established in Cairo under Dr. Ahmed Shaarawy. We will announce the date and address here when it opens. Until then, Dr. Ahmed sees patients at his current clinic in Dokki.

How we write our guides

Every guide is written in plain language and medically reviewed by Dr. Ahmed Shaarawy before publication, and the review date is updated with every change.

We rely on established medical references, such as the World Health Organization classification of vision impairment (ICD-11) and American Academy of Ophthalmology guidance.

We do not publish prices or promise results. The guides are for education, and an eye exam decides diagnosis and treatment.

He completed a cornea clinical and research fellowship and a joint doctorate at Devers Eye Institute in Portland, USA, and has worked in eye surgery for more than 20 years.

He medically reviews every 6/6 guide before it is published, because most patient questions start with an eye test result nobody explained to them.
